Naming

In 1969 at a science meeting physicist Sir Roger Penrose gave a report on his discovery. He told about "object with total gravitational collapse". The world yawned.

A few months later the scientist gave a new name to his discovery – "black hole". Thanks to that fact now everyone knows this conception.

What is a difference between "object with total gravitational collapse" and "black hole"?

Everything…

Only physicists understand the first definition. The situation with the black hole is absolutely different. This name is provocative, amazing and conceptual. And the most important – you believe in it.

If someone tells you that name is not significant, remind them about black hole.
